I received an advanced reader copy of Miss Prim Goes Wild by Katy Rose, courtesy of WaterBrook and Multnomah, and Penguin Random House, in exchange for my review.

Miss Prim Goes Wild, by Katy Rose, is a wonderfully illustrated children’s picture book that was just released this spring. In this short story, we meet Miss Prim, who gets up every morning with a mission to stop the mayhem that takes place in her garden every day. How dare those weeds grow in her yard! Birds fear her. Children avoid her whenever possible. Suddenly, Miss Prim is not able to leave her house and shake a fist at the world outside. What happens next is a lesson in how we can’t control nature no matter how hard we try.

Miss Prim must make a decision: continue to battle her yard in misery, or learn to see the beauty in the messiness of the outside. And in doing so, she can start to feel joy in her heart.

Miss Prim Goes Wild is filled with beautiful and comical illustrations. With its charming alliteration, children, caregivers, and gardeners alike will delight in reading this story aloud. Kids of all ages can appreciate the pictures and storyline. There are also some helpful gardening tips at the end of the story! I will enjoy reading Miss Prim Goes Wild to my kids for a long time to come.
