If you’ve been around the internet or social media the last few years, you’ve likely come across “cottagecore”. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s infusing the cozy, country cottage vibe into the aesthetics of your home, clothes, or lifestyle. But it’s more than a look, it’s a feeling. It’s the urge to return to the “olden” days, with the convenience of modern living. It’s wanting to make your home feel like Miss Honey’s cottage in Roald Dahl’s Matilda. It’s wanting to wear a flowy dress any day of the week, and for any occasion. It’s wanting to go wildflower picking and come home and press them to be made into art later.
For some of us, this is not a new trend; it’s a lifestyle we’ve been living before we saw it romanticized on the internet. The era of grey everything and minimalism might look boring to everyone now (thank goodness). Whatever the reason, this style isn’t going anywhere soon. If you want to sprinkle a little cottagecore feel in your home, the kitchen is one of the easiest places to start.
Below you’ll find some inspiration for your kitchen.

Teapots
A teapot is an essential part of cottagecore. Even if you don’t have tea time every day, a teapot gives off a cozy cottage vibe—especially a pot with a cute design like this one from World Market. The butterfly and flowers are perfect. Don’t forget your tea!

Cookbooks
Cottagecore is more than just decor; it incorporates slow-living and home cooking. You could display some vintage or themed cookbooks on your counter. Why not add a cookbook holder for decor and function? This vintage-inspired one from Magnolia is on my want list. Joanna does it again!

Butter Dishes
Of course every cottagecore girl likes butter, right? Okay, good. So you definitely need a butter dish to keep close by for your scones at tea time. How about this adorable ceramic hare butter dish from Quail Ceramics with Terrain?

Herbs
Gardening, foraging, and growing things are all a part of the cottagecore lifestyle. After harvesting your fresh garden herbs, you’ll want to dry them. This Amish-made wrought iron herb dryer from Wood Craft PA. is handmade in America and built for a lifetime of use. Wood Craft PA has more great items in its store.

Handmade Art
Art is an essential piece of cottage charm. The goal is anything full of nostalgia, whimsy, or handmade.
This digital print from Folk and Forest Art is an easy way to add whimsy to your kitchen. You can purchase it and download it instantly, print it, and add your own vintage frame. There are so many other great prints in this Etsy shop that you can add a whole collage if you wish.

Snails in your garden? Not always welcome. Snails in your kitchen? Only if it’s this charming embroidered snail and mushroom wreath from The Woods Adventure Etsy shop. The wooden-like frame adds a nice vintage touch, too. Check out the rest of the offerings from The Woods Adventure. So many cute things! I favorited this shop right away.

Useful and Cute
If you have a kitchen garden or a flock of chickens, consider getting a gathering apron like the one from Stacy Kitchen Decor. A gathering apron makes your chores a little easier and cuter. There are many different aprons to choose from in this shop. Stacy Kitchen Decor also has custom sourdough proofing bowl covers. Check it out for more handcrafted country kitchen accessories.
